——從《喬家大院》談「韜光養晦」的大智慧

喬致庸原是一介文人，深受儒家思想薰陶，其經商理念亦多有儒道精神，可大致總結為：一信、二義、三利，也就是「以信攬客、以義待人、利取正途」。在從商之際也不忘行善，為解救十萬饑荒災民與協助朝廷籌措平亂糧草，幾乎就讓他兩度傾盡家產。話說在太平軍之亂時，喬致庸曾因報恩心切，替時任太平軍將領的劉黑七收屍而獲罪入獄，被朝廷下令圈禁，並勒索800萬巨額銀兩做為罰金，外加後續每年捐資軍餉150萬兩。此後，喬致庸收斂鋒芒，韜光養晦，蟄伏於山西老家裝病一晃眼就是十年歲月，直至太平軍覆滅。

《易經‧明夷卦》象曰：「明入地中，明夷。君子以莅眾，用晦而明。」明夷卦下離上坤，離為火為明、坤為地，象徵「明入地中」。處於光明被掩沒的黑暗時代，必須學會明哲保身，以避免無謂犧牲。就像戲裡的主角喬致庸，即使懷抱以商救國的崇高理想，胸懷天下，多行仁義，但在清末時局動盪之際，仍不免要飽受朝廷的打擊迫害與勒索無度。卦辭「利艱貞」，提示人們身處黑暗時代，最好能韜光養晦、謹小慎微，才可以趨吉避凶，等待東山再起之日。黎明之前永遠最為黑暗，但只要長夜過去，光明就會再度顯現。
