In Sun-tzu’s The Art of Warfare, the chapter “Waging War” states: “In war, the only treasure is victory, instead of endless fighting.”
Victory does not depend on endless resource-burning, but on whether able to focus all the power and launch the lightning attack at the critical moment. The reason why successful people can become outstanding is not because they have much more time than the ordinary guys, but because they know how to concentrate their efforts on what they can do best, on what they love most, and on what can generate the maximum value.
Just like in the battlefield, all the military forces must be focused, so as to maximize the fighting capability; it is the same for business operations—only by concentrating on the items of high cost-effectiveness, will it be able to rapidly break through the bottlenecks and generate growth.
Success does not simplistically equate with “doing more,” but with “doing right;” learn to do the thing right, and continually focus the resources, so as to achieve the maximum cost-effectiveness.
