For all things in the cosmos,including humans, there does not exist such a “formula” that fits all. The divination of the figure of a hexagram isnot fixed, and the interpretation of the text is situation-dependent;therefore, “what is to be enjoyed and appreciated, isthe text of the line statement.” Why not try tointerpret the line statements in a leisurely and playful mood; viewing fromthis angle and then from that angle, playing by this rule and then by thatrule, just don’t take it too seriously and don’t become over-obsessed.

卦是一種抽象符號，代表抽象性的概念。隨著不同時間、位置、人事物，而有不同的象。一旦象不同，辭的意義也會有所不同。「君子居則觀其象，而玩其辭」，君子平日裡就懂得觀察那些錯綜複雜的象，然後反覆探索其中的道理。

Hexagram is a kind of abstract figure,representing abstract concepts. With the shifting of time, location,people, event and object, the figure itself also shifts. Once the figureshifts, the interpretation of the text will also become different. “The superior man routinely observes the figures, andenjoys contemplating the text.” As part of hisdaily life, the superior man knows how to first observe the shiftingcomplexities of the figures, and then repeatedly tries to explore theirspecific implications.
